Looking slimmer in the same dress is a matter of how you wear the clothes.

All women want to look slimmer than they are. Can simple conrolling of color, shape and fit of our clothes enhance our body shape? The answer is a resounding yes. Here's how to create a flattering illusion.

Do you have thick calves?

1. Stay with A-line skirts.
2. Wear darker stockings than the skirt, or get tanned legs, fast.
3. Stay with heels that are two to four inches high.
4. Avoid shoes with straps around the ankles.
5. Wear wider legged pants.

Do you look unbalanced?

1. Wear dark colors that make you look taller and slimmer.
2. Stay with solids.
3. Match the stocking colors to the shoes. Matching the stockings to the color of a skirt is not as effective.
4. Slim, long boxy coats and skirts are slimming.
5. Stay away from soft flowing materials.

Are you overweight?

1. Stay away from body conscious fabric like spandex.
2. Try wool, jersey, silk or gaberdine.
3. Narrower, but not tight, pants are ideal.
4. Stay away from cuffed pants.
5. Don't cover up. Showing more skin around the neck, for example, makes you look slimmer.

Are you busty?

1. Do not wear long strands of necklaces.
2. Bigger the prints, the worse.
3. V-neck sweaters and blouses are flattering.
4. Stay away from horizontal stripes.
5. Shirts with vertical designs or large breast pockets take the attention away from the chest.
